Every Stillroom puzzle is designed to reward careful observation. Rather than filling a scene with visual clutter, I focus on atmosphere, storytelling, thoughtful composition, and meaningful details that reveal themselves as you puzzle. My goal is to create worlds you'll want to return to again and again.

No, our puzzles feature clean, blank backs. We design each collection to offer an authentic, immersive puzzling experience, relying on the unique cut of the pieces and the rich detail of the artwork rather than a cheat grid.

Every Stillroom design begins with an extensive exploration of ideas, compositions, and visual styles. Once the direction feels right, I dedicate weeks to building, lighting, coloring, and refining the scene in Photoshop and Illustrator until it perfectly captures the world I envisioned.

At The Stillroom, we believe creativity can take many forms, and that art can be created through all kinds of media. But we also believe the word artist carries a particular meaning.
To us, it evokes someone at an easel, a drawing table, or a workbench — pencil, brush, camera, clay, or another medium in hand — developing a craft and creating something through their own practiced skill. There is a history, discipline, and human touch in that process that we deeply respect, and we don’t want to casually borrow the title or dilute what it represents.
Our puzzle imagery is digitally created. We put enormous thought into the concept, composition, storytelling, detail, and final design of every image, and we absolutely consider the finished work art. We simply don’t believe that makes us traditional artists.
So you won’t find an artist’s name on our boxes. That distinction is intentional — and made out of respect for the people who have earned that title through their craft.
Just know that every Stillroom design is created by The Stillroom, from the first idea to the final image.

Each design typically takes one to two months to complete. I spend a significant amount of time exploring concepts before building and refining every scene until the artwork matches the vision in my head. Every puzzle is intentionally crafted to reward careful observation and tell its own story. My goal is to create detail that makes sense. Then—and only then—can I say "done."
